Driveway root damage repair in Garsfontein

Over the years the roots of a large tree had lifted and cracked this clay-brick driveway and side passage, leaving it uneven and a trip hazard. We lifted the paving, cut out the offending roots, re-levelled and compacted the base, and re-laid the original bricks in a herringbone pattern with a neat border course. The new edge curves around the tree so it can stay, and the side passage now runs straight and level all the way to the back of the house.
